Our watershed planning studies encompass a broad range of objectives based on  multiple water uses and values (e.g. ecological, commercial and recreation/aesthetic values; irrigation, soil and water conservation, water supply, wastewater management, flooding). In these studies we use various approaches -- economic valuation, systems modeling and analysis, community engagement -- to develop long-term, strategic watershed plans.

• Equitable Responsibility for Transformative Design, Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority ON, 2018-20—Triple bottom line CBA of an integrated, systems-based approach to optimization of SW infrastructure, Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority, 2018 – 20. Economist on a multi-disciplinary team undertaking optimization modelling of stormwater management measures to examine the relative performance of green (LID) and grey measures and evaluate the potential for innovative financing options. Work includes economic inputs to system models, costing of measures, analysis of co-benefits and municipal financial impacts.  (with Freeman Associates Ltd, Paradigm Environmental)

• Beating the Infrastructure Cost Crunch, Credit Valley Conservation Authority ON, 2018-19—Guidance on Incorporating Nature-Based Solutions in Stormwater Infrastructure Systems Using Cost Optimization Analysis. Economist on a multi-disciplinary team responsible for cost-benefit analysis of stormwater management measures to examine the optimal mix of green (LID) and grey measures including larger scale measures spanning multiple properties operated jointly by cooperating landowners. Work included upgrading of the STEP costing tool for LID measures and analysis of co-benefits. (with Freeman Associates Ltd)
